The Giggle Fone certification process, explained from A to Z

“Certified” is easy to write. But what sits behind the word?
We open the black box: here are the exact steps every iPhone goes through before it reaches you.
Why certification changes everything
A used iPhone between private sellers is a gamble: you do not know where it came from, whether it was tampered with, or how long the battery will last. Certification replaces that gamble with a documented process. Here it is.
Step 1 — Sourcing & IMEI check
Every device is sourced then checked: provenance, IMEI recorded, activation status. Goal: reject lost/stolen units or those still under an uncleared iCloud lock from the start.
Result: a phone with a clear origin, activatable with your Apple ID.
Step 2 — 80+ functional checks
The heart of the process. Every unit goes through more than 80 checks, including:
| Area | Examples of points checked |
|---|---|
| Screen | pixels, uniformity, brightness, touch |
| Biometrics | Face ID / Touch ID |
| Cameras | front + rear, focus |
| Battery | health, charge hold |
| Sensors | proximity, accelerometer, compass |
| Connectivity | Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, network, charging |
| Audio | speakers, mics, buttons |
A device that fails a check does not go on sale as-is.
Step 3 — Battery ≥ 85% guaranteed
The battery is an iPhone’s number-one wear item. At Giggle Fone it is guaranteed ≥ 85% at delivery. If it was replaced, the certified battery is clearly indicated — no surprise in daily use.
Step 4 — Grading A/B/C
Once functions are validated, the device receives a cosmetic grade:
- Grade A: looks almost new
- Grade B: light signs of use
- Grade C: more visible marks
Key point: the grade is about appearance, never functions. A grade C is as functional as a grade A — it just costs less. Detail on grades.
Step 5 — One device, one photo
Last step: every unit is photographed individually. What you see on /d is the exact device you will receive — not a stock photo.
That is the difference between “an iPhone 13” (a model) and “this iPhone 13” (your unit).
The path at a glance
| Step | What is done | What that guarantees you |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Sourcing | provenance + IMEI + iCloud | clear origin, activatable |
| 2. Checks | 80+ points | functions verified |
| 3. Battery | test + threshold | ≥ 85% |
| 4. Grade | A/B/C rating | transparent looks |
| 5. Photo | one device, one photo | the real unit on /d |
| + | warranty & return | 6 months + 14 days |
And after purchase?
Certification does not stop at delivery: a 6-month warranty covers functional issues, and 14-day returns cover a change of mind. Confidence all the way through.
