Grades A, B or C: how to choose for a summer budget in France
Published: 20 July 2026
In summer, trap #1 is not the model — it is overpaying for grade or underestimating the screen.
At Giggle Fone, campaign cosmetic grades follow A / B / C (same criteria logic as the public standard).
This guide helps you match the right grade to your budget in €, not a marketing slogan.
What the grade says — and does not
Every certified iPhone passes 80+ functional checks (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Face ID, cameras, touch, speakers…).
The grade mainly reflects cosmetic condition (screen + body), not “a weaker processor”.
| Grade | Cosmetic summary | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| A | Minimal marks, hard to notice day to day | Demanding daily use, gifts, campus photos |
| B | Light micro-scratches, 100% functional | Default summer value — case + film = calm |
| C | Visible wear, functions OK | Tight budget, secondary phone, short horizon |
Battery guaranteed ≥ 85% on all grades. 6-month warranty. 14-day returns (change of mind; return shipping on you).
Campaign note: this France summer series focuses on A / B / C. If a listing shows other labels, trust the Grades page and the product sheet.
Three summer scenarios (with € budget)
1) Back-to-school gift for a picky parent or teen
They will notice every micro-flaw at unboxing.
→ Grade A. Spend on cleanliness rather than an older Pro.
Common band: about €350–550 by model (check the catalog).
2) Daily driver with a case (≈ 80% of buyers)
You look at the screen, not the back.
→ Grade B first. The gap vs A often funds 256 GB or a newer model.
Common band: about €280–480.
3) Ultra-tight budget before September
You need a reliable phone for school / internship — not a display piece.
→ Grade C, only if you open /d and inspect screen photos.
Common band: about €200–320.
Screen first, case second
Simple rule: you look at the screen hundreds of times a day; the back hides under a case.
- Read the grade screen description on grades.
- On
/d, zoom front / edge shots. - If the screen is fine, grade B or C becomes rational.
- If the screen bothers you in photos, step up to A — even on an older model.
Quick decision table
| You accept… | Grade | € tip |
|---|---|---|
| Almost no marks | A | Cut Pro / Max before cutting grade |
| Light marks under a case | B | Reinvest savings into storage |
| Visible wear OK | C | Mandatory: /d photos + screen film |
Common July–August mistakes
- Comparing a “new-feeling” A to a C “for the price” without checking the screen.
- Thinking B = broken — no: same functional tests.
- Ignoring storage: a full A 128 GB costs more day to day than a B 256 GB.
- Mixing currencies: on gigglefone.fr, read €, not HK$ amounts from another market.
